Treasure of Kafur

The Treasure of Kafur is based on the time of the Mughal reign in Hindustan, around 1580 AD. Akbar was at the height of power, but beyond the hills of Satpura, Asaf Baig, the king of Khandesh was brewing a rebellion that would upset the almost invincible run Akbar had. He had unearthed the secret treasure of Malik Kafur that would grant him an upper hand in the duel between the two empires. However, the missing link to this much-coveted treasure was Dattareya; a boy who had to guard this secret form Asaf Baig and take it as far as he could from his reach. In this ‘snakes and ladders’ like journey, would Datta be able to make it in time to the Mughal Empire to save his grandmother and the fate of Hindustan?

By Two worked on the storyboard and trailer production for this book. The illustrations were thoroughly researched to best portray the elements as embedded in history. The storyboard has tried to encompass a sense of looming danger and a brave journey undertaken by a young lad. The style was chosen to carry the film noir genre embedded with the vintage and Indian flavours.
